The “Comtoise” or clock from Franche-Comté

Purpose : Create a timeless Comtoise.

Target : Contemporary case for international market.

Description : The clock was made with a solid wooden box  (fir is the most traditional material), pendulum and dial were in metal. It was the only clock in 17th century farmhouses so it needed to be loud. That’s why it used to be made of solid, carved wood. It was not just a clock but a large piece of furniture set in the dining room.

Material : Local woods  : spruce and birch.
