A European Master Class on Wood
From July the 1st to the 7th 2013
Following the DREAM (Design Research Europe Arts and Crafts) program and in partnership with the INMA, the Crafts Council of Ireland and the Fundesarte, the Centre for Folk Art Production (ULUV) proposes to organize Master Class on Wood.
The master class will welcome fifteen young professionals from France, Ireland and Spain in the SUV-School of Applied Arts in Ruzomberok from July 1st to 7th 2013. This training has the ambition to guide the new generation of young graduates in crafts, design and applied by bringing together professionals throughout the EU to learn new skills and undertake research in their primary area of craft and design expertise.
The wood master class in Slovakia will be dedicated to the wooden toys. Hardness and plasticity, durability and finiteness, grandeur and simplicity-these are the attributes that make wood exciting and attractive for craftsmen and designers. Under the joint leadership of a recognized craftsmen and designers the participants of the master class will reflect on a new approach to wood production in Europe.
The Wood Master Class in Slovakia is part of six Master Classes organized by European Leonardo da Vinci Program that cover sectors such as fiber, glass, wood and ceramics and are held in Finland, Italy, Spain, France, Ireland and Slovakia.
