Created in 1812, the woodwork of art “Ateliers Allot-Frères” is specialized in the fabrication of furniture in the styles of Louis XIV, Louis XV, Louis XVI, “Directoire”, “Restauration”, and Louis-Philippe.
It is one of the rare in France that has once again reunited the 8 bodies of crafts in the same working site “the old fashioned way”: joinery furniture, joinery-seats, woodwork, marquetry, wooden sculpture, lacquer, gilt, tinted-varnishing, upholstery-filling. To reproduce entirely the masterpieces of the French master woodworkers, the enterprise leans notably on a technical and historical collection of sketches, some of which date back to the XVI and XVII centuries.

From the choice of massive woods (oak, chestnut, cherry, walnut…) made into planks within the enterprise, where the precious wood veneers are drawn from a stock of over 43 different essences, to the final varnishing, the traditional techniques are scrupulously respected all along the fabrication cycle and privileged to absolute quality. Except for the output and cutting of the wood, the woodwork and sculpting are done completely by hand.

From commodes, secretaries, armoires, buffets, consoles, mirrors, cabriolets, wing chairs (a.k.a warp, confessional, or Duchess), Baldachin beds or game tables, the pieces, made with the utmost care and signed, are made on command or in a limited series of two or three models. 20% of the furniture is commanded by a clientele of foreign collectors.
