Description: Icon painting. Square shape. Naïve painting. Guardian angel keeping in hand a flower in shape of a cross. The Sun and the Moon are painted on the right and on the left side of the angel. The painting resembles an open window through which the starry sky can be seen. It is a visual metaphor for a child’s prayer. It can be noticeable the gentleness of the naïve painting:
the little feet of the angel that walks around the Earth. The gold leaf has an important impact in the painter’s work. Maria
Constantinescu’s painting is unique through her own style, through the simplicity of the drawing, through its equilibrium, strong symbols, but mostly through its chromatics: golden, green, blue, turquoise, emerald. The wings of the angel are chromatically rich. The sepia colour background and the green frame have the aim to complete the work into an original manner. The author’s signature is in the left lowest part of the painting.

On the nowadays market this type of object can be found, the price varying between 1000- 1200 lei. It is a unique painting specific to only to the artist Maria Constantinescu. She keeps the traditional technique of glass painting, using almost religious themes, following also her imagination. The painting technique and the bright chromatics of the ocean and sky strike. This is the reason why the price is so high, such a painting cannot be encountered in the fairs of traditional art, only in great exhibition halls, art galleries, private collections or museums.
