Material/ Technique: fir tree wood; metal; acrylic colours, cut, sawn with the fretsaw, shape on a lathe, joined, painted.

Utility: Piece of furniture with decorative and utilitarian function; it covers the niche where food was preserved; nowadays mostly a decorative piece.
Description: Rectangular shaped; made up of a simple frame and a door; central door provided with 2 metal hinges; above the door there is a shelf; on the top there is a baldaquin decorated with the fretsaw; floral motifs: passion flower, peony, sunflower, achantus; geometrical motifs: hachures; rosette enclosed in double red frames. Under the door, enclosed in an inset is painted the inscription: JOHAN KLEIN ANNO 1838;

Chromatics: brown, red, green, white, blue.

Economic sector: Worked in an urban workshop; This type of object can be found on the nowadays market at about 170 Romanian lei; the interest in acquiring this item is
growing thanks to its usage – utilitarian and decorative – and because many people are interested in decorating the interior
with pieces of Saxon Folk Art. Currently in the country it is a very small number of people who manufacture pieces of wooden
furniture with Saxon ornaments (about. 3 companies).
